first day after surgery

David got to the hospital early.  The Surgeon was in and was pleased to see Sharon sitting in a recliner in the ICU.  He was very pleased with how the surgery went and all of Sharon’s markers and measurements. There is a lot planned for today including some disconnections and later some walking. That will be plenty since pain levels may be highest today. The staff has been amazing and the spiritual side of the Adventist hospital is very comforting. Sharon thanks everyone for their love, support and prayers.

Hello there Sharon! Not going to lie, we were all holding our breath yesterday and waiting on updates. This is all so good to hear that you are sitting up and out of bed! Amazing, really. Keep your spirits up and you’ll be out of there in no time with plenty of people to wait on you at home, where you belong. Rest up buttercup. See you soon.

Yay, Sharon and Dave, and Advent Hospital cardiac unit, ICU nurses, operating team and head Dr. Accola! Keith and I knew from his experience that you are in great hands for cardiac recovery at Advent! Dr. Accola replaced 2 of K’s valves in December ’24. Since then K has flown to Europe 3x, walked up and down hilly Lisbon and Porto in June, and feels well. It will take 3 months before normal stamina is back, Sharon – you’ll be up to speed before the holidays!
